A master of session work, Carlton has played on over 100 gold albums, contributing to iconic recordings with artists like Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, and Michael Jackson. His solo career took off in the late 1970s, highlighted by his Grammy-winning performances and groundbreaking work on television and film soundtracks, including Hill Street Blues.

Carlton's soulful, melodic approach to guitar has left a lasting imprint on jazz, blues, rock, and pop, earning him a place in Hollywood’s prestigious Rockwalk alongside other guitar legends.
